My brother came to Victoria to visit me and we had a few hours to fill in July. We ended up doing a bicycle tour of my favourite park benches and ended up on the bench at Spring Ridge Commons. We came upon a group of youth who were hanging about with guitars, sometimes playing music. It was a lovely scene, we felt welcome without joining in – a nice sense of shared space with respected privacy. My brother and I are 52 and 55.
